MobileHog Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

MobileHog is an unofficial, independently developed client for PostHog analytics. It is not made, endorsed, or supported by PostHog Inc. MobileHog has no backend server of its own — it is a pure client app that talks directly, over HTTPS, to the PostHog instance you connect it to.

What the app collects

Nothing. MobileHog's developer does not operate any server, does not receive any data from your device, and does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The only crash reports, if any, are Apple's own, generated and handled entirely by iOS.

What the app stores, and where

Who sees your data

Only you and whichever PostHog instance you choose to connect to (PostHog Cloud US, PostHog Cloud EU, or a self-hosted instance you specify). MobileHog's developer has no access to your API key, your PostHog account, or any analytics data you view in the app.

Network connections

The app only ever connects to the PostHog base URL you configure during onboarding, always over HTTPS — including self-hosted instances, where plain HTTP is rejected outright.

Your controls

Signing out from within the app immediately deletes your API key from the Keychain and purges all locally cached data. Uninstalling the app removes everything MobileHog ever stored on your device.

Children's privacy

MobileHog is a developer tool for viewing analytics from an existing PostHog account and is not directed at children.
